The Rise School is a nationally recognized model of best practice in the field of early childhood education. The founding Rise School is located on the campus of the University of Alabama (Tuscaloosa, AL). This “mother school” has been in existence for over 30 years. Like the founding school, the UAH Rise School is also dedicated to excellence in service, research, and teaching. The Rise School serves young children with and without disabilities. The Rise Model is a unique blend of child development, early childhood education, early childhood special education. The Rise School uses the Creative Curriculum and an integrated therapy approach for speech, occupational and physical therapies. We have partnered with Music Together of the TN Valley to provide a music curriculum that promotes family involvement. The purpose of the school is to prepare children optimally for their next educational environment, and support families within the community.
